Manually Uninstall SQLDBManager Plus


7. How do i manually uninstall SQLDBManager plus from my system ?

  • Shutdown SQLDBManager (Make sure the service is stopped if installed as a service)
  • Open a command prompt, go to <SQLDBManager_Home> directory ( by default <SQLDBManager_Home> - C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\SQLDBManagerPlus5 ) and execute the following command : shutdownSQLDBManagerPlus.bat -force

Removing the installed files

  • If the SQLDBManager is installed as service, uninstall the service first by executing the <SQLDBManager_Home>\bin\uninstallService.bat file. After executing the uninstallService.bat file, verify if "ManageEngine SQLDBManager Plus" services has been removed from the windows services menu ( services.msc )
  • Delete SQLDBManager from the Start menu by selecting Start -> All Programs -> right click on "ManageEngine SQLDBManager Plus 5" and choosing the delete option
  • Connect to the SQLDBManager's back end SQL Server which was provided during installation and delete the SQLDBManager's database ( database name by default - MESQLDBM. You can find the back end SQL server's details from <SQLDBManagerPlus5_Home>\working\conf\database_params.conf file )
  • Delete all the files and directories under <SQLDBManager_Home> directory ( <SQLDBManager_Home> - C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\SQLDBManagerPlus5 directory. If required, delete from the ManageEngine directory )

Removing Entry from Registry

  • Open Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> regedit ) and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. For a 64 bit machine, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.
  • Under Uninstall, check if you have a entry saying {E6AEA16F-0377-42B0-B4EB-7FA3DBBFDFAF} or {e6aea16f-0377-42b0-b4eb-7fa3dbbfdfaf} or check if there is entry which starts as "Prof..." ( ex: prof102710140642 ). If such entry is present, click on the entry and you should be able to view keys like DisplayName with value "ManageEngine SQLDBManager Plus 5". Once you have identified the correct key, delete that key and its sub key from registry ( delete the entry {E6AEA16F-0377-42B0-B4EB-7FA3DBBFDFAF} from registry )
  • Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information directory ( for a 64 bit machine, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information directory ) and delete the directory which has name as {E6AEA16F-0377-42B0-B4EB-7FA3DBBFDFAF} ( same name as the above key name )
